To mark Respiratory Care Week 2023, Shifa Center of Professional Excellence (SCOPE) is organizing Mechanical Ventilation in Neonates and Children in collaboration with the Department of Neonatology, Department of Pediatric Intensive Care and Department of Respiratory Therapy, Shifa International Hospitals Ltd., Islamabad.
The workshop will be primarily a hands-on experience with the succession of question and answer session.

Learning Objectives:
Towards the end of the session, participants would be able to:
- Understand the basics of mechanical ventilation and different modes of ventilation applicable to neonates.
- Identify the setup of mechanical ventilation circuits, troubleshoot common issues, and interpret arterial blood gas (ABG) results in neonatal and paediatric patients.
- Appraise the ventilation strategies for managing paediatric patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), asthma, and cardiac diseases.
- Describe the principles and application of high frequency oscillatory ventilation (HFOV).
