“Advances in the Management of Empyema: Medical Perspective and Role of Uniportal VATS” seminar was hosted by the Shifa Center of Professional Excellence (SCOPE).
The seminar was curated by activity directors, Dr. Syed Murtaza Hassan Kazmi – Consultant Pulmonologist (SIHL), and Dr. M. Ashgar Nawaz – Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon (SIHL), with the aim of updating healthcare providers’ skills using globally applied methodologies. Both activity directors presented the latest evidence in modern day management of Empyema in pulmonology and thoracic surgery.
Dr. Aftab Akhtar – Consultant Pulmonologist (SIHL) & Section Head Pulmonology (SIHL) along with Dr. Khalid Rasheed – Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon (SIHL), welcomed the participants and appreciated the efforts of activity directors and organizers.
The seminar featured distinguished experts in the field, including Dr. Salman Bashir Wani – Consultant Neonatologist (SIHL), who presented the latest developments in the field, such as new treatments, research findings, and technological advancements. Dr. Naveed Rashid – Consultant Infectious Diseases (SIHL), who provided valuable insights in the management of this challenging disease.
In his closing remarks, Dr. Zeeshan Bin Ishtiaque, Chief Medical Officer, Shifa International Hospitals Ltd, emphasized the importance of prioritizing top-quality care for patients.
